The Fund

Who We Are - Research and Educational Fund

The Green Lane Research and Educational Fund was established in 1971 and originally based at Green Lane Hospital. Its aim is to facilitate research and education for the following five departments:

  • Adult Cardiology
  • Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia/Cardiothoracic and Vascular Intensive Care Unit
  • Paediatric and Congenital Cardiac Services
  • Respiratory Medicine

Mr Paget Milsom – Tissue engineered heart valves: Novel decellularisation techniques

Project budget funding of $100,000 was awarded to Mr Milsom to continue his research into the development of a novel decellularised TEHV for future experimentation in a large animal model.

Dr Anthony Kueh – To evaluate the utility of cardiac CT in the left ventricular thrombus

Dr Kueh was awarded Limited budget funding of $20,000 to assess the feasibility of cardiac computed tomography in identifying left ventricular thrombus in patient with confirmed left ventricular thrombus by transthoracic echocardiography.
